A priceless artifact disappears from a sealed vault. How and why?

The Amber Room, an 18th-century masterpiece, vanished during WWII. It was never seen again.
The Amber Room, a world-class art piece made of amber panels, was given by Prussian King Frederick William I to his Russian ally, Tsar Peter the Great, in 1716. In 1941, the Nazis looted it from the Catherine Palace near Leningrad. The Amber Room was then displayed in Königsberg until 1943. After that, it disappeared. Despite numerous investigations and hunts, the Amber Room has never been found. Its fate remains one of the great mysteries of art history.
